Oh crap, now I am on the American Family Association’s boycott list…
So, I always wondered what it must be like to work for a company that evangelical action groups target for a boycott or some other demonstration. Now I know!
This is ludicrous… Not only does Ford NOT sponsor the show in question, Pontiac did in fact sponsor the episode… funny how that was not mentioned in the Action Alert…
So how am I, as a follower of Christ, supposed to react to this nonsense? I am sure that the AFA would love for me to stick it to the man and quit. I am waiting for the rest of our sales staff to read the talking points that were made available to us… I wish the AFA had given me talking points for when my co-workers approach me about this stuff.
I have mentioned before, and I need to get it off my chest again, this is a huge part of why the church has become ineffective in this country…
Once again an evangelical fringe group has made a public statement on behalf of all Christians… Not only did they get thier facts wrong, they also have alienated all sorts of people within the Christian and Non-Christian world… This is another attempt to force “Christian Values” on the world that has rejected them…
Why do these groups insist on expecting those who do not follow Jesus to live like they do?
Why do they insist on having the world clean the outside of the cup while turning a blind eye to the inside of the cup?
Why do they insist on making a far bigger production about what Christians are against, instead of talking about what we are for?
The more I read through the prophets, the deeper my awe of God’s desire to restore His children to their rightful place. It amazes me the lengths to which he has gone to bring us into deeper relationship with him.
Then I compare it to messages like this that do nothing but divide the world around us from the community of Christ, and the power that resides in it.
Father forgive us, for we know not what we do…

I read this a little bit ago… Larry is a good guy, and I like how he prays through this… I wish more of our brothers and sisters in ministry looked at politics this way…
