The harsh realities of the car business…
Last week a guy came through our dealership, offering to make hand made business card holders that had our names on them. I am pretty pleased with mine, and it looks cool, it is my name carved out of wood, and for $25 bucks, I think it was money well spent.
After paying for mine, I looked at the half dozen or so card holders that he had under his arm. Out of the seven of these things that he made, at least three (that I could see) were made for people who have been fired or quit in the last seven days.
Easy come, easy go…
This month has been tough for all of us here… I currently have three vehicles out, with my third going out today. It had been ten days since I had sold a car. It seems that no matter what I did in that span of ten days, I could not deliver a car. I sold plenty of them, my buyers just could not get financed… such is life.
So entering into the home stretch, I have to build some momentum, and move some metal, otherwise I am going to end up owing the company money.

That’s sad but kind of funny. My husband and I were car shopping recently and it was amazing how many car dealerships we went to where the salesman came out with a business card that had been printed with someone else’s name and they had scratched it off and written theirs in above it. They ALL said, “My cards haven’t come in yet.” We just cracked up each time it happened. My husband had a great idea - why doesn’t the dealership just print cards with a blank space to WRITE the salesman’s name instead of having names printed since they seem to change dealerships so quickly.
I hope your sales pick up!
You can do it!
