God is most satisfied…
There are times when I can not help but shake my head and wonder if the church in this country will ever pull her head out and start focusing on what is truly important.
Reading through my tag surfer this afternoon I found myself reading a post over at Agnostic Atheism. Now, while I do not find myself reading blogs devoted to atheism all that much, I could not help but agree passionately with some of what this post says.
The post was talking mostly about this website, which I will let you explore for yourself.
Reading through the website, I nearly vomited when I got to the part where the Miraculous Wealth Transfer Covenants were described.
But just as things were at their bleakest, John Piper came riding to the rescue…
Amen.

John Piper speaks with passion doesn’t he!!! That was a great clip! I can’t stand the prosperity gospel either and it makes me angry that people and their churches who follow this trend have suckered so many in with this message. How sad God must be when He sees this happening - IN THE CHURCH!
I heard a great preacher at a large church in Texas say that this kind of gospel sells here in America, but it doesnt sell in the streets of Calcutta, and if it doesnt sell the world over, then it is not The Gospel.
The health and wealth gospel makes me want to vomit. Check out people like Creflow Dollar and Peter Popoff if you want something that will make you want to scream. They are constantly saying things like God wants a Mercedes in every driveway in America.
I just wonder if they have read the stories about Jesus.
Ah Creflow… I lost all respect for him when Evander Holyfield “donated” all of his stuff to Creflow’s church so that he would not lose it in his divorce settlement. Then, after the divorce the church gave it all back… go figure…
