Oh Brian…
A follow-up that ties in to Brian McLaren’s quote from the other day…
I am not going to say a word… I would like to hear what you all think before I comment…
Have at it.
P.S. I will moderate out any comments equating McLaren to the anti-Christ, or any similar venom.
It seems like a very wordy and bold claim to make by using one line from the Lords prayer. I guess I would just like to see some more textual evidence to support his opinion.

Nathan-
What other “textual evidence” were you thinking about? I guess more specifically what I’m wondering is this: what about what Brian McLaren said sounds problematic to you, and requires further scripture to clarify?
The line from the Lord’s prayer seems pretty straight forward to me… “on Earth, as it is in Heaven”
I don’t know… maybe I’m missing something?
Matt-
Thanks for posting this!

I say AMEN and AMEN. St Francis said “Go out and preach the gospel…if necessary use words.” I believe that salvation alone is incomplete gospel. I don’t believe that Jesus came only to save me eternally (incomplete), but that He came to save me from myself EVERYDAY (complete). Brian McLaren’s books have opened my eyes to explore and to realize that theology and religeon are man made things. Brian says that he is on a journey himself. In The Secret Message of Jesus, he says that it is not written to take away from the traditional reading of the gospel, but to expand on it. The footnotes in my Bible are not the Holy Spirit in my life. Kingdom mentality is the crux of the sermon on the mount.
