A little bit of an update…
This week I changed jobs at the dealership that I work at. I moved from new cars to used cars. I can still sell both, but now I am primarily selling used. Why the switch? I tend to be a little bit ADD about things, and I get bored if I am doing the same thing for too long. I have been selling new cars for about a year now, and I wanted to switch it up a bit. I also wanted to get the experience in used cars, and improve myself as a salesman.
I also really like our used car managers, and I am looking forward to learning more about the business from them in the coming months.
So far it has been a nice change. I enjoy the more laid back environment, and am already seeing an improvement in my paycheck. I currently have five cars out for the month, I have covered my draws and then some. It is shaping up to be a good month.
The dark side of the move was the internal pettiness that went on for a few days. There was an attempt to keep me from shifting from one department to another so that I would not adversely affect the paycheck of the new car managers. In a conversation with a friend this week I remarked about how I prefer these squabbles to the far more petty versions that go on in the church world at times. It just makes more sense in this situation.
Anyhow, now that the shift has been made, I am looking forward to posting more from Everything Must Change, I am also wanting to kick around community based leadership in the near future, but for now I am off to buy shirts. Labor day has passed, and I have to wear ties again… ugh.

dude, you wear a tie to work! I’m SO sorry, that must suck…
Looking forward to hearing what you mean by “community based leadership”… sounds interesting.
ties do suck… especially when it is like a million degrees out.
