Life comes at you fast…
So, it seems like I have been writing a great deal of “where have I been posts” of late. It seems like the month of September blew by, and in ways that is wonderful, in other ways, it is less than that, but all in all it has been a VERY good month.
I am going to give a quick rundown of what has been happening, and then go to bed (I just returned from Long Island, after delivering a brand new Mustang this morning, and spending a wonderful day with a good friend):
- I finished September with my best sales month ever, I sold 18 cars, and am at least number two in total sales (though I may be number one, we will know after the accountants close out the month)…
- After deciding not to take part in book project, I read Three Signs of a Miserable Job, by Patrick Lencioni and saw that everything I would have written has already been written, and by not writing a chapter for that book, I think I avoided legal issues… you need to get that book.
- Did I mention that you need to read that book?
- If you ever go to Sagamore Hill (Teddy Roosevelt’s home on Long Island) be careful not to bang on the front door. The door has original glass in it, and the Rangers are very protective of that glass.
- I know bathrooms. The Joyce Kilmer rest stop on the north bound New Jersey Turnpike has got to be the nicest rest stop bathroom on the face of the planet. I purposely stop there to use the bathroom when I am driving on the turnpike, whether I have to go or not. Fresh flowers in the Men’s room, it is always spotless, and today I saw a guy dusting the air vents… on a Sunday. How cool is that?
- Have I officially announced that I am going to be an uncle?
- It is a little over six weeks until I go on vacation.
- I have become a fan of Southwest Airlines of late, even if the 7:55 from Islip to BWI is always late.
I think that is all for now. I am planning on sleeping in tomorrow, and then taking Tuesday off (at which time I will hopefully write about a few of the things that have been bopping around my head)…

glad that you had a nice trip and reststop
yeah!!! uncle matt! how fun will that be…how is your sister doing?
I know bathrooms, too. There’s one about 50 miles north of San Diego that I always stop at. It’s the cleanest, most well lit and well maintained rest stop I’ve ever seen. I feel I owe them my “patronage,” so to speak. Though, more than obligation, it’s the 2 bottles of water I tend to drink between LA and SD.
